It is part of the Pine Ridge Ranger District, which includes the Pine Ridge National Recreation Area and Soldier Creek Wilderness. The area's trail system offers approximately 80 miles for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Horse camping is available. Other activities include hunting, picnicking, wildlife viewing, and a visitor center. The town of Chadron is nearby for fuel and supplies. The site is accessible to passenger cars.
