This historic guard station cabin in the Pike-San Isabel National Forest is a reservable site located about 7 miles from Nathrop. The cabin sits at an elevation of 9,700 feet and provides a base for activities including hunting, fishing, boating, horseback riding, and biking. The site includes a 14-by-16-foot cabin with a bed, table, chairs, and wood stove. A fire ring and picnic table are available outside, and additional space is provided for tents or a camper. Horses may be kept onsite. Water is available from a hand pump, but campers should bring their own drinking water. The cabin is located near Browns Canyon National Monument and provides access to hiking trails and scenic drives.
