May Queen is a developed campground in the Pike-San Isabel National Forest, located at the western end of Turquoise Lake at an elevation of 9,900 feet. Sites are reservable and include some ADA-accessible options. The campground accommodates vehicles up to 99 feet long. Situated in a lodgepole pine forest, the area offers boating, fishing, and swimming in Turquoise Lake, as well as access to hiking on the Turquoise Lake Trail and nearby Colorado Trail. Remnants of the region's mining history are visible nearby. The campground provides vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. The nearest town for supplies is Leadville, about 7 miles away.
