Camp Gateway - Sandy Hook

This developed campground in Gateway National Recreation Area offers tent-only, walk-in sites up to 0.25 miles from parking. All campsites are reservable and equipped with a fire ring, grill, picnic table, and food storage container. ADA-accessible sites are available. The campground has flush toilets and running water, but no showers or electricity. Activities in the surrounding recreation area include hiking, biking on a seven-mile multi-use path, and numerous water sports such as paddling, fishing, and windsurfing. The area also features a historic lighthouse and visitor center with interpretive programs. The nearest town for supplies is Highlands, about three miles away.
