Big Creek Campground (great Smoky Mountains National Park)

This developed campground in Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a tent-only site located 16 miles from the nearest town, Newport. The 12 campsites have fire rings, grills, picnic tables, and tent pads, with access to flush toilets and drinking water. No RVs or trailers are permitted; the maximum vehicle length for the parking area is 18 feet. The campground serves as a base for hiking, with strenuous trails nearby, and for fly fishing in Big Creek, which runs alongside the sites. Wildlife viewing is also a common activity.
