Sheyenne National Grassland

This developed campground is located within the Dakota Prairie National Grasslands. The site offers opportunities for biking, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, picnicking, wildlife viewing, and horse camping. It is accessible by passenger vehicles. The nearest town for fuel and supplies is Sheldon, about 13 miles away. The surrounding landscape consists of tallgrass prairie over sandy soils, with topography ranging from flat plains to sand dunes. The grassland is managed habitat for several sensitive species, including the greater prairie chicken and the western prairie fringed orchid.
