Hapgood Pond

This developed campground in the Green Mountain National Forest offers family campsites for vehicles up to 25 feet in length. Sites are both reservable and first-come, first-served. Located two miles from Peru, the area provides drinking water and vault toilets. Each site includes a picnic table and campfire ring. The adjacent Hapgood Pond features a carry-down boat launch for non-motorized activities like canoeing and kayaking, a designated swimming beach, and a fishing pier. A trail of nearly one mile follows the pond’s edge, with a shorter spur trail through the woods. The recreation area also contains day-use picnic shelters and a large play field.
