Elk Creek is a developed campground in Curecanti National Recreation Area on the north shore of Blue Mesa Reservoir. Located at an elevation of 7,540 feet, the campground provides electric hookups and can accommodate vehicles up to 62 feet long. Sites include fire rings, grills, picnic tables, and tent pads. The area is a hub for water-based recreation, including boating, fishing for salmon and trout, swimming, and other water sports. Other available activities are hiking, biking, hunting, and wildlife viewing, with a visitor center and interpretive programs nearby. The nearest town for supplies is Sapinero, about 7 miles away.
