Ahupua'a o Kahana SP

Hawaii State Parks · Developed campground

This developed campground is in Ahupuaʻa ʻO Kahana State Park, managed by Hawaii State Parks. The park occupies a traditional Hawaiian land division that runs from Kahana Bay up to an elevation of 2,670 feet at Puʻu Pauao. The valley receives significant rainfall, from 75 inches near the coast to 300 inches in the interior. Two trails are available for hiking: the one-mile Kapaʻeleʻele Koʻa loop and the 2.5-mile Nakoa loop through a rain forest. The park also contains cultural sites, including the restored Huilua Fishpond, fishing shrines, and a heiau. The nearest town for supplies is Kaʻaʻawa, about one mile away.
