The park is situated on a long, white-sand beach curving around a bay sheltered by an offshore reef, with ironwood trees shading the shore. Water is generally calmest on the east side of the bay, away from the river mouth's currents. Facilities include restrooms with cold outdoor showers, drinking water, picnic tables, and grills. The nearest town for supplies is Anahola, about 1 mile away.
