A developed campground in Lydgate Beach Park, managed by Kauaʻi County Parks, is located about one mile from Wailua for supplies. The park lies south of the Wailua River and features two rock-walled ocean ponds that create calm, protected water for swimming and snorkeling. One of the two ponds is shallower and suited to small children. Onshore facilities include restrooms, showers, picnic areas with barbecues, a disc golf course, and the large Kamalani Playground. Lifeguards are on duty at the beach. Camping is allowed by county permit for a maximum of five consecutive days.
